Filling in the guided questions takes about 10 to 45 minutes depending on the structure, and you can save and come back. Once you have paid, a lawyer reviews your application within 1 to 3 working days and files it with the Registrar-General. The Registrar typically issues your certificate in 5 to 14 working days, or 1 to 3 working days with express processing.
Every price has two parts: the government fee we pay to the Registrar-General on your behalf, and our fixed service fee. A sole proprietorship starts from GHS 470 (GHS 120 government fee plus GHS 350 service fee). A private company limited by shares starts from GHS 2,010 (GHS 510 plus GHS 1,500), plus stamp duty of 1% of your stated capital. Both parts are itemised on your bill before you pay.
Every person you list needs a Ghana Card or passport, a passport photo and proof of address. Company shareholders and directors also need a TIN certificate. A corporate shareholder provides its certificate of incorporation, constitution and a board resolution. Yes. A passport is accepted in place of a Ghana Card, and everything happens online: the questions, the uploads and the payment. If you need the certificate quickly, express processing brings the Registrar's time down to 1 to 3 working days (from GHS 400 for a sole proprietorship, GHS 1,000 for a company limited by shares).
